THE country’s young but growing gaming and gambling industry has gone a notch higher with the launch of a new high-end casino in the heart of Westlands.
Casino FlaminGo has opened its doors at the upmarket area targeting expatriates, embassy staff and the wealthy Nairobi business community.
The investment, worth over $10 million, opened on Friday and sits on a 16,000 square feet area and consists of 160 slot machines fitted with the latest online technology systems and 15 live game tables. This places the casino as the largest in the country.
The facility has a capacity of over 300 people and offers various incentives such Happy Hours, Lotteries and Promotions as well as point accumulation and lucky draws for customers.
The biggest challenge facing this type of business is yet the negative perception normally associated with casinos. “We want people to know that a casino is a leisure place… you go to enjoy and also sometimes you make money.”
Games to be offered include State of the Art Slot Machines, American Roulette, Blackjack, Pontoon, Stud Poker, Brag (3 Card Poker), 7 Card Poker, Texas Hold’em and Mini Baccarat.
